Our belief is that when the interests and abilities of the child drive the curriculum and activities, children become excited about learning, leading to self-confident, caring citizens and lifelong learners.
Philosophy of Family
HPELC values healthy relationships between the teacher and child, the child and the family, and the teacher and the families.
We believe that teachers need to learn from the experiences, knowledge, culture, and child rearing beliefs and practices of each child’s family. Close relationships develop over time through interactions that are warm, respectful, responsive, and caring.
